After creating an account, logging in, and connecting your social media profiles, you might find Metricool’s user interface intimidating. But after a minute of familiarization, you’ll find that the platform isn’t that difficult to navigate.
Let’s take a tour.
After logging in, you’ll default to Metricool’s Evolution tab. This is where you’ll find all the analytics for the social media accounts that you connected.
The panel on the left-hand side of the dashboard will show you a list of your social media profiles. You can connect a social account by clicking the plus icon. Clicking on a connected profile will bring up the analytics data for the selected account.
The options available for each social media dashboard will vary. For instance, selecting Facebook will enable you to see your page overview, demographics, clicks on page, posts, and competitors data.
However, when you click on Twitter, you get a different set of options — community, tweets, and competitors.
You can scroll up and down to reveal more data about your social media presence on that particular platform. There’s also an option to edit the date range so you can access data from a specific period.
You’ll find some of the other Metricool features tucked underneath the Real-Time tab. If you connect your website, you’ll find real-time information about it in this section.
Then there’s the hashtag tracker feature. You can enter the hashtag that you want to track, the social network it’s on, the period covered, and the duration.
Once you’re set, just click Save. Metricool will keep you updated on the status of the hashtag including the number of tweets it generated. This is useful if you want to keep track of a Twitter or Instagram campaign that you launched.
The Twitter section will give you a closer look at your published tweets as well as your community engagement. You can add competitors to the list so that you can see how well they’re performing.
You’ll also find your messages in this tab. Not only will you see who’s been messaging you across different platforms, but you’ll also be able to reply to them instantly.
The Planning tab contains your social media calendar. Here you can create and schedule posts for publishing.
As previously mentioned, Metricool provides data on the best times to post per social media platform. The calendar is color-coded. The more solid the color, the better chances the post has of reaching users.
You’ll also find a button here that will allow you to import or export posts in CSV format. There are also filters that’ll help you to narrow down the posts by status. You can also view previously published posts in the History section.
Another interesting Metricool feature is Autolists. It works exactly as it sounds. You can create a list of posts and set the days and hours that you want them to be published.
Finally, there’s the Instagram Link feature. That’ll give you an Instagram Link that you can add to your Instagram bio. Then you’ll have the option to add photos and buttons to redirect users to your online store or wherever you need them to go.

Use the Ads tab to prepare, launch, and review your Facebook and Google Ads campaigns. There are four sections under this tab: Campaigns, Keywords, Create Campaign, and Recommendations.
- Campaigns — This is where you monitor your published ad campaigns.
- Keywords — This is where you do your keyword research.
- Create Campaign — This is where you add a new ad campaign in Metricool.
- Recommendations — This is where you’ll find campaign recommendations from Metricool.
You can toggle between different periods to see only the data that matters most to you.
The nice thing about Metricool is that it has a lot of plans. That means you have more flexibility as far as pricing is concerned. This means you likely won’t find yourself overpaying for features you don’t need.
The main difference between plans is the number of brands that you can add to each account. Basically, you can add one social platform per brand. So for example, if a plan lets you add 10 brands then you can add up to 10 Facebook profiles/pages, 10 Twitter profiles, 10 Instagram accounts, 10 websites, and so on.

The free version of Metricool lets you add one brand and one account per social media platform except for LinkedIn. There are other limitations too. You don’t get Data Studio, reports, customizable templates, CSV downloads, Instagram links, API access, and white label capability.
Metrics storage is also limited to three months. And you’ll only be able to monitor up to five competitors.
There’s also a post limit of 50 per month.
Pro 5 bumps up the brands to five. This plan also unlocks the reporting, CSV downloads, and Instagram link features. The metrics storage from here on out becomes unlimited. And you’ll be able to analyze up to 100 competitors from this point up to the highest plan.
You can now publish up to 2,000 posts per month.
This plan allows you to add up to 10 brands. Aside from that, you’ll have the same restrictions as you do with the Pro 5 plan.
Aside from getting up to 15 brands, you’ll also unlock the option to add unlimited team members. This will also give you access to Data Studio, customizable templates, and API access.
This will also bump the post limit to 5,000.
This will let you add up to 25 brands. Otherwise, it’s the same plan as Team 15.
With the Enterprise plan, you’ll have the option to add up to 50 brands. This plan unlocks everything including white-labeling (via consult). You can now publish 10,000 posts per month.
Note: We should point out a couple of things before we continue. Regardless of what plan you choose, the Hashtag Tracker feature is a paid add-on. Also, you can only analyze up to 10 YouTube competitors no matter what plan you pay for (except for the free account where you can’t analyze YouTube competitors at all).
Here are the things we like and dislike about Metricool.
- Powerful social publishing tool — It’s easy to schedule social media content at the right times. It’s particularly nice that the “best times to post” feature is built right into the social media calendar.
- Analytics for more platforms — Most social media tools don’t touch advertising analytics. It’s great that Metricool provides such a comprehensive analytics featureset.
- Social inbox — While the social inbox doesn’t include comments (yet), It’s a great way to ensure you can respond promptly to messages from fans and customers.
- Instagram Link In Bio tool — Get more mileage out of your IG bio without needing to subscribe to a separate Link In Bio tool.
- Flexible pricing — With so many plans to choose from, you’ll find one that’ll suit your budget and needs.
- Metrics storage — Paid plans will allow you to store all of your analytics data for future reference.
- Facebook and Google Ads — You can plan and execute ad campaigns from the same platform.
- Regularly rolls out new features — Metricool do a good job of keeping up with changes to social media platforms and rolling out new features. For example, they were one of the earlier platforms to add support for direct TikTok scheduling.
- Hashtag tracker — This useful feature is a paid add-on at $9.99 per month.
- Templates — Reporting templates are only available if you’re on a team plan or higher.
- White labeling — The white label is only available in the Enterprise plan.

Metricool is a solid choice for anyone that needs an affordable social media management tool. It combines traditional social media features while expanding into the realm of paid advertising.
Metricool seem very pro-active in terms of rolling out new features and improving existing features. And they continue to add more value like they did with the addition of a Link In Bio tool.
And while the social inbox is somewhat limited compared to other tools like Agorapulse, they do have improvements planned. Such as the addition of finding and responding to comments and mentions. Rather than just messages.
One particularly unique feature is the way they handle the “best time to post” analytics. In most tools you can only find this in your analytics. Metricool, however, overlay this data in their social media calendar & publishing tool. This is great for optimizing workflow.
